Today's blog post features all the trippy music I was listening to in high-school.
I had to save up for all of my CDs and then transfer them to tapes for my walkman,
since I didn't have a portable CD player.
(Yes, I am that old. Surprise!)
Then I'd sit at home or in the art room or on the subway and just get lost in my sketch books.
You wouldn't believe the kinds of stuff I was drawing.
Vampire carrots, barfing caterpillars... Me, with dreds, hanging out topless in the midst of it all...
So let me take you on a little musical vacation.
Enjoy! and Happy Friday!
I saw Massive Attack live when I was in Hungary with Edie. They performed at the Sziget Festival.
Christiansands and the next song are both off of Tricky's album Pre-Millenium Tension.
So far my "blog-playlists" have been selections of songs that are the most popular, or the ones I feel would be the most accessable. Afterall, these forms of music may be totally new and nothing that you've heard of or experienced before, so I go easy.
But this next song, one of the lesser known treasures on the album, was so deeply embedded into my mind and I want to share it. The lyrics are morbid and sad, but it's nice, and foggy, and it seethes.
And when I hear it I go back to Grade 11.
