Fashion Fridays

CUE SONG:

AND GO:

These are by surrealist fashion designer Du Yang and her fashion label Yang Du

“Fantasy, abandoned by reason, produces impossible monsters; united with it, she is the mother of the arts and the origin of marvels.”
- Goya -

Headband by Tarina Tarantino

Necklaces by Lee Riot

“It’s easy to believe in magic when you’re young. Anything you couldn’t explain was magic then. It didn’t matter if it was science or a fairy tale. Electricity and elves were both infinitely mysterious and equally possible — elves probably more so.”
- Charles de Lint -

Pumped up kicks. I saw these when I was in Switzerland.

Dior runway, can't remember which season... early 2000's somewhere

Crochet shoes by Christian Dior

I WANT THESE SHOES SO BADLY - Reebok Pump Court Victory II - Miami Vice

We are not French

This track is insane.
At first, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but the more I listened to it the more I freaking LOVED it.
It's one of my fav photo shoot songs. It's so gritty and hard.
And the beat drops like a bomb at 1:30

We are NOT French!
Here are some behind the scenes pics from a shoot on Tuesday night.

DARK SIDE

That's me! Screaming like a banshee in the poster above!
Robert K. Chen (jeweler extraordinaire) is presenting his thesis exhibition at OCAD from May 5 to 8.

Darko shot it, and I got to channel Ozzy and Alice and Gene.
(insert devilish grin here)
As usual I like to pair up everything with music, so here you go:

Tasty Tuesday

Today I'll post a bunch of cute Bento Boxes
I am super busy and in a rush, so this is going to be a fun picture post with info courtesy of Wikipedia:

Bento (弁当 bentō?)[1] is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables, usually in a box-shaped container.

Bento can be very elaborately arranged in a style called kyaraben or "character bento". Kyaraben is typically decorated to look like popular Japanese cartoon characters (anime), characters from comic books (manga), or video game characters.

Amy gifted me with some incredible bento supplies a while back,
so I'm planning on making a bento, Andy McParrot style.

Another popular bento style is "oekakiben" or "picture bento", which is decorated to look like people, animals, buildings and monuments, or items such as flowers and plants.

"The Great Wave" by Katsushika

And since this is playing on my computer I'm going to gift you with this "way back play back" from 2002.

Music Monday

Geoff tells me I have great taste in music.
Thank You Geoff!
And Geoff has the most incredible trance mix that I must steal!! And then share of course!

Here's a mini selection of the songs that have been buzzing in my brain lately:

My favorite song du jour. Magnum P.I. would approve:

My favorite dubstep song right now. I actually am incapable of functioning when I hear this song. It's like being temporarily drugged:

And when I hear this song I can't STOP dancing. These are definitely NOT good driving songs:

Song exchanges are one of my most favorite things to do.
PLEASE send me your song links! I love it! It's like finding treasures.

MUAH!! Happy Monday peeps!! xoxo
