Here Comes The Sun

In 1970 my Mom was 15 and in Germany with her parents.
On a rainy and overcast day they went to a medieval castle and took a tour.
The castle was very dark, and the walls were made of cold stone.
They walked from chamber to chamber in the chilly air, and then turned a corner into a
bright space illuminated by a sunny beam of light.
The sun had come out and was shining through a stained-glass window high up on the wall.
Outside the rain was over, and in that echoing room everything was glowing golden.
My Mom remembers a girl with long brown hair and bell-bottom jeans who looked up at that warm and bright light and started to sing
"Here comes the sun" by The Beatles.
She says it was just one of those really soulful and beautiful moments...

2010 is almost over, and 2011 is on the horizon.
Happy New Year everyone, near and far.
Happy New Year to my friends and family.
Happy New Year to my blog readers and fellow bloggers.

I wish you all success, and good health.
I wish you joy, laughter, love, and peace.

Walk into the future with an open heart.
This new year is going to be incredible... I just know it.

Holiday Treats

This is an ode to the tasty desserts I ate over the holiday!
My favorite are shortbread and gingerbread cookies with a cup of tea.

This is also dedicated to my friends who love baking!

Here is a link to the recipe for Caroline Swift's Winter Cherry Brownies
and a link to an amazing blog called Design*Sponge
I visit this blog regularly when I need inspiration and want to
dream about making things and crafting things...
It's really great and inspirational. You should check it out.

I wish you sweet dreams with this amazing animation clip by Kristen Lepore!
(The "unwrapping" part is so cute!)
